Conjugate common German verbs confidently in the present tense.

German present tense

German Präsens covers current actions, habits and many future plans. Start with the regular person endings, then learn high-frequency irregular verbs such as sein and haben and common stem-vowel changes.

Ich lerne jeden Abend Deutsch.

I study German every evening.

You speak German very well.

Common mistakes

  • Using the infinitive instead of a conjugated verb.
  • Missing common stem-vowel changes.
  • Memorising tables without sentences.
